Haslemere Food Bank Needs Donations

Haslemere Food bank desperately needs to increase donations and seek new locations for the collection boxes. If your organisation or business could have a collection box in the doorway, or could coordinate a collection in your street or community, this would help the food bank greatly.

If you can help to increase donations, please contact Haslemere food bank via 07818 692389.

Haslemere Food Bank Changes Contact Details

Haslemere food bank's contact details have changed. To contact them please do so via the below:

Email: haslemerefoodbank@gmail.com

Telephone: 07818 692389

The previous contact details are still in use until 31st August. After this date, the above details will be the only way to contact the food bank.

The original address and number are the personal contact details of Alison and David Rice. The change means that they will no longer be the sole recipients of messages relating to the food bank, though they will both remain very much involved.

Welcome Buddies Is OPEN

Welcome Buddies is now open for new volunteer applications and referrals!

Run by Voluntary Action South West Surrey, Welcome Buddies is part of the Welcome Project. It aims to help people with mental ill-health move on with their lives by supporting them to join in with main stream activities.

People who would benefit are those who have either become isolated because they lack the confidence to start a new activity on their own or those who would like to move on from activities provided for people with mental ill-health and join groups, clubs, activities that are for everyone but who need support to get started.

Welcome Buddies helps identify activities that the person would like to try out, they are then matched with a volunteer buddy who will accompany them and support them until they are ready to go it alone.

Volunteers all receive training for the role and are DBS checked. For further details or to make a referral contact please contact;

Denise Graves on 01483 504626, or via mobile on 07825 417204.

Alternatively you can email: d.graves@vasws.org.uk

Please note - social distancing guidelines are strictly followed.

Service Update From The Hoppa

Please see the below update about the Hoppa's service from Steve Forward, General Manager:

"On Tuesday 24th March, the day after the Prime Minister’s lockdown address, we suspended all transport services.

Apart from two non-emergency patient transport services and several home to school transport services for children of key workers, all our other services remain suspended.

Until the government is able to lift restrictions sufficiently to enable us to resume our dial-a-ride and other services safely and responsibly, we will unfortunately have to remain closed.

We have periodically called our regular customers with updates and this will continue for as long as necessary. In the meantime, a member of our team is on hand to answer calls to the office from Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm. 01428 681701.

Steve Forward

General Manager"
