About Haslemere Network

The Haslemere Networkis a networking groups for organisations working in Haslemere and surrounding areas. The group is open to anyone from the Voluntary, Community, Faith and Statutory Sector.

The group is facilitated by Voluntary Action South West Surrey and meets three times a year. Meetings consist of a mixture of speakers and networking and updates from group members. In between meetings this page can be used by network members to post news and information that would be of interest to the network.

Lets Get Steady Falls Prevention Sessions

Lets Get Steady is a 2 ½ hour falls prevention session which aims to provide practical advice to identify and reduce the risk of falls. The sessions are for individuals over 65 who have either had a recent fall, are vulnerable to falls due to a long term condition or are fearful of falling.

These sessions will be held at various venues across the borough. The sessions are free of charge and referral is either through your GP or by calling the Council’s Care and Repair Team on 01483 444476 or 444347.

Thesession will provide:

  • advice on strength and balance from a Physiotherapist
  • advice on hydration and nutrition from a Dietitian
  • advice on safety within your home environment from an Occupational Therapist
  • advice on medication, sensory issues and foot care advice from a Community Matron
  • advice on the latest alarms and sensors available from the Borough Council
  • walking aid MOT
  • free resource booklet packed with useful local information
  • free Falls booklet
  • referral to community connector or development co-ordinator

Fare Share FoodCloud is partnering with Tesco to launch the Community Food Connection. This will enable charities and community groups to collect surplus food such as bakery products, fruit and veg at the end of the day for free!
